Republican Primary Letter

Dear fellow Elko County Republican: I’m Brian Gale and I’m running for Elko County Commission. Very briefly, two things:

  1. Before you vote for Elko County Commissioner, District One, please check me out at Gale4Elko.com.
  2. In the event that my campaign is successful, I’m really going to need your input on many issues that come before the county. Please remember that you can always contact me at Brian@Gale4Elko.com. In fact, if you start sending me your thoughts and concerns right now, I can become even better informed, and hit the ground running.

That’s it. Thanks for your time. I’d greatly appreciate a chance to win your vote, and then understand how I can best represent you on the Elko County Commission. For peaceful, prosperous liberty,

Brian Gale

P.S. I’ve got a bit more space, so here are some of my thoughts.

My qualifications: In my university study of Manufacturing Engineering, in my work in factory management, and in the past 18 years of running a ranch, I’ve learned one thing more than any other – If there’s a problem, there’s a solution. Sometimes the solution will be right out of “the book,” but sometimes the best solution is something that has never before been considered. I want you, my Elko County neighbors, to know that I am willing and able to “break trail for the road less traveled” so together we can solve every issue that arises.

The US Constitution is the most significant secular document to ever have been written. It has brought the greatest peace and prosperity the world has ever known. The US has drifted far from the founder’s original intent. This drift doesn’t represent a change from agriculture to industry so much as it represents a change from confidence in the rule of law, to submission to rule by elite “experts.”

Paper ballot/ hand count elections: I’m strongly in favor. It might be just too easy to steal the election if we rely entirely on computers. I’d much rather rely on my neighbors.

More roads/ safer access: One topic that has been of recent concern is the limited access to Spring Creek. Toward the east, extending and paving Boyd Kennedy Road to the Halleck Exit of I-80 would carve off 10 miles and at least 15 minutes from a trip between Spring Creek and Wells. Improved access to I-80 will reduce traffic through Elko, and increase property values in Spring Creek.

Mormon Crickets: I’m not a big fan. We’ve been fighting this periodic western plague for centuries. I’m interested in pursuing whatever course, conventional or not, to reduce the discomfort they cause.

Perpetual funding for Elko County: I believe we can. If there’s one thing that all local government has in common, it’s too little funding. I have a plan that will provide better funding, with fewer long-term taxes. Win for county, win for property owners. For details see Gale4Elko.com

Education: I’m a lifelong, huge fan! There is very little in this life I value more than all forms of education. I love to learn new things. I love to teach my children new things. As a parent of four students, that have all attended Wells High School, I know where our local schools have great advantages, and where they have challenges. I strongly support our public schools. I strongly support all alternatives for education; private schools, home school, and charter school. Our children are worth whatever effort and change it takes to prepare them effectively for the future they’ll build.

Federal government funding of local projects: I’m adamantly opposed. This practice is what breeds “the swamp” in every locality in America. Elko County is clever enough to solve our own problems. What we don’t need is to embrace the “magical benevolence” of our dear Uncle Sam.

Balanced budget: I’m a big fan. Out in the real world there’s a term for people who continually spend more than they earn. Bankrupt. America is too precious and blessed to allow terminal politicians to bankrupt the whole nation.

One last, quick, little thing. Our American political system works because the people get to select their own representatives. That’s really easy to do in a group of a couple hundred friends, but in a county of 54,607 it’s a little more difficult to know much about the potential candidates. I was able to send you this personal introduction because of the generous contribution of other patriotic Elko County citizens. Please consider a contribution to my campaign. This letter cost about a buck to send out, so even a contribution of $5 will get good work done. You can learn how to contribute at Gale4Elko.com.
